Physical Activity and Concentration
A study performed in Yogyakarta, Indonesia had the main focus on how physical activity affected concentration. It has been shown those who overeat and have low physical activity affect either their physical health or sleep quality. Those who have poor sleep quality, and add on obesity leads to drowsiness during school affecting their learning process and hypoventilation, when the breath is too slow to meet the needs of the body, which decreases concentration. The cross study performed show that those who had a higher level of physical activity 71.1% had good concentration compared to this who had low concentration 28.9% who had low concentration.
Teachers now a days are noticing that students have more concentration deficits and reduce attention spends. A study took 100 healthy students between the ages of 13-16 which were assigned to an experimental group which included coordinative exercise and a control group which consisted of a normal sport lesson. The decided the results with a d2-test which tests both attention and concentration. Those who participated in the coordinative exercise did significantly better on the test, it is presumed that this type of exercise leads to pre-activation of the brain responsible for functions such as attentoin
